Together with outstanding soloists, the RIAS Chamber Choir and the KAP, Antonello Manacorda will perform the famous romantic opera “Der Freischütz” by Carl Maria von Weber in concert.
With the three-act opera, which was already a huge success at its premiere in the Berlin Theater am Gendarmenmarkt in 1821, the German-language musical drama entered the European stage and distinguished itself as a style in contrast to French or Italian opera. Weber stages the great love between Agathe and Max, a wolf's ravine, fairytale demons and fateful twists in a fantastic plot that comes to life in gripping and enchanting music.
