The featured soloists are also excellent, especially Werner Güra in St Paul and Elijah and the soprano Golda Schultz, especially in her aria ‘Höre Israel, höre des Herrn Stimme’ at the beginning of Elijah part 2, which in turn leads to one of the work’s major highlights, the chorus ‘Fürchte dich nicht, spricht unser Gott’, delivered here with maximum vigour.
