Dear friend,

The heatwaves are behind us and Autumn comes to usher us all back into concert halls, theaters and salons. All those warm and inviting spaces to sit with art and make it through the long dark winter that follows.

I honestly am so grateful I got some time off. Last season I realized that I haven’t been prioritizing my rest as much. I think many of you can relate to this; things after 2020 and the Covid period still feel uncertain and I think in response to this uncertainty many of us have been looking to routines and exertion to remind us we are ok. But I am learning to seek out softness more, quiet is becoming a comfort again and a place where my creativity can thrive, and therefore make me a better person!

So after the rest, I feel like I’m ready to tackle new challenges. This upcoming season is a season of challenge and rigor - one that I welcome! I’m ready to try new things, prepared to stumble, but most of all I’m excited to be proud of myself for having done difficult things and reward myself with softness where I can find out more wonderful things about myself.

Therefore starting this coming season with the Strauss feels so right. His music has challenged me since I was a young singer, but it has also given me so much that I have learnt about myself too. It feels like a beautiful luxury to just live in his musical world for a while, both on the concert and opera stage.

May gentle autumnal breezes find you and may there always be a good tune in your heart!
